Open after your first day of work

Updated: 3 days ago

Open after your first day of work.

Well… you did it.

Your first full day in a completely different country is officially done, and honestly, I hope you’re proud of yourself right now because I definitely am.

I know today was probably a mix of emotions. Exciting. Nerve-racking. Overwhelming. Maybe awkward at times. Maybe exhausting. Maybe amazing. Probably all of the above.

There’s something really brave about walking into unfamiliar places where nobody knows you and figuring things out from scratch trust me I've been there and done that. Most people never push themselves that far outside their comfort zone, but you did.

And even if today wasn’t perfect, that genuinely doesn’t matter.

Nobody expects you to have everything figured out immediately. You’re learning new people, new routines, a new environment, and an entirely different way of living all at once oh and probably learning new accents I'd imagine. Give yourself credit for that.

I also know you probably overthink things sometimes, so let me remind you, you are more capable, intelligent, funny, and adaptable than you realise. Those words just said are debatable however.

People are going to love you over there because you have this way of making people feel comfortable just by being yourself.

And while you’re building this whole experience for yourself, I just hope you know how cool it is watching someone you love chase something bigger than their comfort zone.

Even from the other side of the world, I’m cheering you on.

Now hopefully tonight you can finally relax a little. Get into bed. Put something comforting on. Tell me everything that happened. The good parts, weird parts, awkward parts all of it.

I want to hear about your world over there.

Love you darl
